Domaine Chandon de Briailles

In the family since 1834, Domaine Chandon de Briailles was taken over in 1982 by Nadine de Nicolay. With hard work, this one has been able to restore, in a recognized way, its letters of nobility to the vintages of the property.

That's why they decided to spend the entire estate biodynamic culture at once in the 2008 vintage.

When Nadine de Nicolay invested in the estate in the early 1980s, it quickly understood the harmful effects of chemical cultivation.

The chemical amendments, "orange agent" weedkillers, yellow oil pesticides and insecticides from the "mustard gas" warfare industry appear to him to be inappropriate for growing vines.

Located four kilometers from Beaune, in Côte-d'Or, the estate is located in the northern part of Beaune called Côte de Beaune famous Burgundy vineyard.

Its area covers 13.7 hectares in equal parts between the three municipalities of Savigny-Lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton.

Today, his children, Claude and François de Nicolay together manage the property. Each with a very different background, they share the same passion: vine, wine and biodynamics.
The estate produces an average of 50,000 bottles a year, about 60% of which are exported.
